CSE supports entrepreneurial spirit development and offers resources to help you start your own sustainable business using the Decalogue Management Methodology.
Course Outlook
This course is designed for entrepreneurs already, or soon to be entrepreneurs. Our Entrepreneurship Management program will help you in two years, to learn everything you need to know about creating a systemic business that succeeds even against the current trends.

In this 2 year program, we accept students coming in after completion of high school, from College/University, Work or entrepreneurs currently running their own businesses.

In order to graduate from the program, you need to complete the following 4 mandatory modules:
Module One: Building an awareness of systems: (Semester I)
- An introduction to complexity
- The systems view of an organization
- An introduction to systemic thinking processes
Conflict cloud
Solving day-to-day conflicts Solving dilemmas - Processes and learning to map the system
- Describing processes with a TRT
Module Two: Managing the system to build quality, involvement, and flow: (Semester II)
- Understanding variation
- Measuring and monitoring variation through statistical process control
- Managing an organization through a constraint (the simulator)
- Buffer management
- Systemic project management: Critical Chain
- Planning projects using the PRT and TRT
- Systemic management thinking skills:
Core conflict cloud: from undesirable effects to the core conflict resolving
the core conflict with systemic solutions (injections)
Module Three: Measures and measurement system for creating value through the value chain: (Semester III)
- Understanding value and profitability: Product P & Q
- Accounting for growth: throughput accounting (as previously stated,
throughput accounting is not a replacement for traditional accounting but needs to be understood and applied in parallel in order to inform strategy and decisions) - Creating value through marketing and sales by selling the capacity of the system: external constraint
- Continuous breakthrough and new product innovation: using the core
conflict cloud to build innovation and new products
Module Four: Planning and managing the transformation:(Semester IV)
- Building the path for transformation: FRT
- Avoiding pitfalls: NBR
- Highlighting the project-based nature of the Transformation through the
application of all the Thinking Process Tools to the realization of a project
Module Five: Project Start a sustainable business (Semester V) - Use the 10 steps of the Decalogue Management Methodology to launch or grow an existing business

Admission Requirements
Diploma (two-year) or advanced diploma (three-years) or bachelor’s degree or demonstrated relevant work experience (resumé and references required).
English Language Proficiency
Applicants with international transcripts who do not provide English language proficiency test results must test at the college level in the CSE English assessment to be considered for admission. In addition, applicants who are considered for admission to the program based solely on their work experience will be required to provide proof of English proficiency at the college level.

Tuition
The program cost for Summer Study 2024 is USD $1295 (+ $95 application fee). The program is delivered physical and online so there are no on-campus activities.
Financial Aid
Limited need-based financial aid for full and partial scholarships is available. The financial aid application is included as a component of the Summer Study application.
The financial aid application requires submission of financial information including family income, assets and expenses, so it must be completed in consultation with your parent(s)/guardian(s). Student applying for financial aid will receive an application fee waiver.
There must be significant financial need before a student will be considered for financial aid, so only students with significant need should apply. Technology stipends may also be available.
Financial aid decisions are sent with application decisions.
A 10% discount is available for CIRMI members. Please email the CSE for more information about discounts.
Applicants must submit a nonrefundable $95 application fee when they submit their application. Students who are eligible and who wish to be considered for limited need-based financial aid will have their application fee waived.

- Develop, present and analyze a comprehensive business plan adapted to the enterprise that adheres to professional standards and practices.
- Assess and use current concepts/systems and technologies to support business initiatives.
- Develop strategies for implementing effective marketing plans that reflect an analysis of relevant resources and practices of an enterprise.
- Use accounting and financial principles to support the management and operations of an enterprise.
- Select sales and customer service strategies and apply them to the needs of an enterprise.
- Apply a range of human resource practices that support and promote small business objectives and goals and optimize all functional areas of a small business operation.
- Implement principles of supply chain management and operations management and analyze their impact on the operations of a small business.
- Conduct small business activities and transactions in compliance with pertinent legislation, policies, health and safety and other regulations, professional and business standards, as well as tax, insurance and other fiscal requirements.
- Promote principles of sustainability and corporate social responsibility that apply to small business initiatives.
- Prepare and follow a plan for ongoing personal and professional development to establish and maintain entrepreneurial networking and business relationships and opportunities.
- Plan, implement and evaluate projects by applying project management principles to support the operation and management of a small business.
- Use market research to optimize the operation of a small business.
- Select and implement risk management strategies to support all aspects of the operation of a small business.

Below are some frequently asked questions from students, parents, and educators.
Is the program in-person?
The program has options for both fully in-person and for virtual and delivered online. There is housing available for those interested in in-person option where as online students do not need accommodation and there is no on-campus component.
Who can apply to CSE ?
The program is designed for entrepreneurs, rising entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs to be. Each applicant must be age 21 or older by the start of the program. Unfortunately, we are unable to make exceptions to the eligibility requirements.
What is the English proficiency requirement for international students?
Generally, international students are required to submit one of the following on the “Test Scores” page of our application:
- The online Duolingo English Test
- TOEFL
- IELTS
- Cambridge Assessment English Qualifications
The minimum score is 90 for TOEFL or 110 for Duolingo (or the equivalent on a different test)
You are NOT required to submit an English test score if any of these apply to you:
- You are a Kenyan domestic student
- You are an international student, but English is your native language
- You are an international student, but English is the language of instruction at your school
Can I apply without official transcripts?
In the application, you will provide contact information for a school official who will be notified and asked to upload your official transcript. Your application is not complete until your transcript has been received. Transcripts must be received by the application deadline.
What will my day look like?
Our online format provides a rich opportunity to engage with peers from around the world. We provide the same quality instruction that you would receive in the classroom, with greater flexibility for you to interact with your team and instructors. Through live class sessions, asynchronous learning, and group meetings with professors, you will work on projects with your peers, completing both team and individual homework assignments. Assignments are spaced throughout the month, and regular check-in meetings with professors and near-peer mentors will help keep you on track. The program is designed to serve our global cohort of students.
If I don’t get accepted into CSE Program, can I still apply to CSE’s diploma program?
Yes, absolutely. Please don’t let this deter you from applying to the CSE certificate & diploma Program.
Can I get a refund on my Application fee?
The application fee and deposit are nonrefundable.
